Round Rock ISD holds second called-meeting to discuss TEA letter at 7 p.m. tonight
Round Rock ISD will consider hiring an external investigator to look into Superintendent's conduct, and may appoint a temporary Acting Superintendent
The Round Rock Independent School District will hold a second called-meeting this week at 7 p.m. Jan. 6, to discuss a letter from TEA Monitor David Faltys. The letter suggests the school board place current Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez on paid administrative leave until an independent external investigation into the conduct of Azaiez is complete.
The letter stems from the issue of an alleged domestic violence incident involving Azaiez, and the monthslong conflict between the school board and right-wing individuals who continuously interrupt meetings and disrupt business.
Trustees held a called-meeting on Monday to discuss the letter, but took no action.
Tonight, two additional agenda items will be discussed in Closed Session on top of the letter from TEA, including the possible hiring of an external investigator, and the possible appointment of a temporary Acting Superintendent.
